Leighton Hospital
OVERVIEW
Front five were appointed to carry out the full mechanical and electrical package to the New Modular Built Accident and Emergency department at Leighton hospital.
Scope
The project incorporated a substantial amount off-site prefabrication work which was required to aid a speedy delivery of the new A&E department in the midst of a global pandemic. Bespoke prefab skids were installed to corridor areas, with prefab pipe work used for plant areas.
Objective
The New A&E department was built during the worst global pandemic in a century with the need to get the department open as quickly and safely as possible; modular and prefab construction methods were key in getting the project over the line.
On top of the standard M&E packages, Front Five undertook a number of specialist installations including medical gas, pneumatic tube, nurse call, IPS, and UPS Systems.
